As my friend John Danner — known to most simply as “JD” — and I walked among the artists busily at work on their chalk paintings at the Old Mission we both knew this was a really, really good year for the Festival.
“Do you know which one you like the best,” I asked JD early Tuesday morning after we’d taken a few photographs from the top of my eight-foot ladder. He looked over at one, then back across at another, then another and finally several others. “I’m not even sure I even can say which five of them are the best” he told me. “At least five of these are beyond incredible.”
Included here are a sampling of this year’s chalk art paintings. If you had to pick a favorite, which one would it be? (Images in no particular order)
